This helps me get a deeper understanding of your business and marketing environment. The depth of the research will depend on the package you choose and how complex your business model is but I will look at and document:
I’ll look at the online activity of one or more of your main competitors, reviewing their social media standing and content creation process.
Your tailored marketing plan will be based on the outcome of the audit and what you hope to achieve. It entails a documented plan unique to your business detailing how the objectives will be achieved and by when. Again the level of detail varies depending on the option chosen but will cover:
If it’s not in the diary, it normally doesn’t get done. The editorial calendar is an account of what’s to be done, by when and by whom. The type of content or activity to be created, how it will be distributed and promoted, the target audience and who in the Decision Making Unit it is aimed at.
SEO is the process that drives organic traffic to your website, based on how relevant the keywords and key phrases that people type into the search engines are to the content of your website. The review looks to ensure your website is structured properly and the relevant keywords are being used.
Google My Business is a free listing and is linked to Google Maps and Google+. It allows a business to add more information about the company, including photos, video and opening times which also helps you take up more on-screen space in the Search Engine Results Page (SERPS) results. This is becoming more important for local search.
Over the past few years, Google has changed the way websites are ranked. There is now a greater emphasis on providing quality, relevant content on your website and promoting and distributing that content across the internet and through social media channels. By providing content that your audience will find useful and valuable there is a greater possibility that people will link back to that content and Google see these backlinks as a credibility and trust factor.
Providing a regular enewsletter enables you to keep your audience up-to-date with news and trends in your marketplace or new products and services you are offering and promoting.
As part of the content creation process it’s important to highlight your content via social media platforms, I will take your content and post it to the relevant platforms. The scope of the posting varies between packages. The social media monitoring element acts as a listening post to highlight any specific posts related to your business or markets.
This will be a snapshot of the metrics we are recording against agreed KPI’s and will depend on the activities involved but will generally cover:
This is a review of the metrics and KPI’s we agreed within the tailored marketing plan. It’s a record of whether we’re on track or not and includes recommendations and suggestions.
This is a chance for us to get together to discuss progress made, to prioritise activities, make adjustments to the plan and look at future requirements and activities. Any changes will be documented within the marketing plan.
A dedicated marketing manager provides a single point of contact with someone who understands your business who over a period of time could be viewed as an extension of your marketing team. He will be responsible for managing the programme and ensuring activities are kept on track and on budget.
There is no silver bullet that allows extremely fast progress, sustainable marketing is a slow burn. A 6 month period will allow any SEO and content marketing activities to gain traction. In addition, much of the necessary work involved will be front loaded and costs will be amortised over the 6 month period. After 6 months you can decide to stop using my services or move on to a monthly rolling contract.
Note: My optional PPC advertising service does allow for quick targeting of a specific audience.
The packages are set up for businesses at different stages in their marketing journey. Before any work takes place I participate in a mandatory (chargeable) discovery workshop to get a high level understanding of your issues and requirements. During this period I will recommend the best package for your business.
